BUILT FOR DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS
Connect link status with traffic context.
01
Keep connectivity visible.
Observe link health and receive notifications when connectivity or monitored interface behavior needs attention.
02
Understand utilization.
Review bandwidth and throughput trends to see when busy periods or capacity constraints may be affecting the connection.
03
Investigate with history.
Use graphs and threshold-based monitoring to compare an incident with earlier traffic patterns and recurring peaks.

WHERE IT HELPS
A clearer view from
the edge of your network.
Monitor the network interfaces that carry your internet traffic. Combine link metrics with ping and device monitoring to build a more complete picture of connectivity.
Use ICMP ping monitoring for reachability and latency, then SNMP monitoring for supported interface and traffic metrics.
Office internet connections
Keep the links supporting everyday business applications in view.
Branch networks
Review connectivity and utilization across the locations your team supports.
Capacity discussions
Use observed traffic trends to inform investigations and bandwidth planning.
FROM CONFIGURATION TO CONTEXT
Make the first check count.
01 / SETUP
Identify the link
Choose the supported device and interface that represent the connection.
02 / SETUP
Configure SNMP access
Set up authorized SNMP v2/v3 monitoring and the required probe connectivity.
03 / SETUP
Set alerts and review trends
Choose appropriate thresholds, notification recipients, and review periods.
KEEP THE RIGHT PEOPLE INFORMED
Bring alerts into your team’s workflow.
Choose email or supported integrations such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and webhooks. Use maintenance windows for planned work and acknowledgements or comments to add incident context.
Notification channels and workflow features depend on your plan.
A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
Know what your
check tells you.
How is bandwidth monitored?
MonitorCTL describes SNMP-based monitoring of interface throughput, traffic trends, and bandwidth utilization. The available metrics depend on the device and interface.
Which SNMP versions are supported?
The current internet-monitoring service lists SNMP v2 and v3. Choose the version supported by your device and your organization’s configuration requirements.
Is this the same as a browser speed test?
No. Interface and link monitoring observes connectivity and traffic metrics over time. It is different from a one-off end-user speed test.
Can I monitor a link on a private network?
Private infrastructure requires an appropriately deployed probe and network access. Confirm the deployment requirements and monitor availability for your plan.
